Vegetable Garden

The south side of our house used to be sad sad sad, full of dying grass and weeds. Not many things will grow here, given that it gets full sun in the summer. Look, Jimi's happy now that we've constructed this container garden from the leftover patio rock. I've planted a bunch of herbs, and Jimi moved some of his cacti over there. Tomatoes and peppers are coming in a couple of weeks.

Castle Hill

So we had our annual girls dinner at Castle Hill, a restaurant which I had not been to in years and years. After looking over the menu, all six of us ordered the same exact dish (Red Wine and Fresh Herb Marinated Beef Tenderloin with Red Wine Glaze, Garlic Puree and Smoked Gouda Cheese Butter). I think our waiter thought we were nuts... for more than one reason.

I have to say that I'm still enraptured by their Basil Cheese Torta appetizer (see what's left of it in background). It's a delectible concoction of fresh basil pesto, cream cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, and roasted pine nuts.
